I am currently a PhD student in English literature at Brown University. I specialize in the history and theory of the novel and usually focus on British fiction of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, although I have worked on other periods and genres. I also have interdisciplinary interests in religious studies and music. My previous substantial research projects have focused on the work of George Eliot, Samuel Richardson, Charlotte Brontë, William Wordsworth, and Chinua Achebe.
I grew up in Connecticut before I got my bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, where I was a Trustee Scholar and double majored in English literature and History. I then received my MPhil in English from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, where my studies were fully funded by the Gould Studentship in English Literature. For 2026-2027, I am a Collaborative Humanities Fellow at the Cogut Institute for the Humanities.
In my breaks between school, I have worked as a teacher of sixth grade English in New York City and at an educational nonprofit in London. In my free time, I like to play the violin and piano, listen to podcasts, run, and bake. You can keep up with me by subscribing to my substack.
